Storytelling Connects

Storytelling Connects® is a creative card game where players create an imaginative story. It is designed for people who want to stay mentally flexible and enjoy the company of others. This includes, but is not limited to, people living with dementia or other cognitive disorders, and those in later life who may be experiencing loneliness. The game also works well with families, and supporting intergenerational play.

The game offers structured interactions through the shared creation of stories using images and story prompts. Every player takes an active role by describing their image and what it means to them: the people, the places, the scents and the sounds. The next stage is telling a story that links all the images to develop unique and fun stories created by the whole group.

The game consists of pictures and prompts (Picture, Character, Sensory, Plot and Ending) to stimulate parts of the brain involved in learning and memory through cognitive sequencing. It supports social connections and wellbeing, turn taking and conversations.
